Apologies for being wordy!
Sorry to all for the long posts! I've got a lot to say and I'll try to keep it shorter in the future. Joe Rocks, I'm sure, understands! LOL! Sorry for the go at ya, Joe!
I am a semi-retired, certified dog trainer. I received my undergraduate degree from Monmouth University in English Literature and my dog trainer's certification from National K-9 School for Dog Trainers. My certifications are in puppy pre-school, basic, beginning and advanced dog obedience, canine behavior, utility work, police canine work, scent discrimination and detection, handicapped assistance and protection training. I am a Rottweiler enthusiast and a French Ring fan. I have also trained dogs for carting and brace training (multiple or tandem dog obedience). While running Camp K-911, I specialized in Rottweilers and other large breeds and stressed large or "dangerous" breed owner responsiblity. We also gave classes on how to prepare your dog and family for an upcoming human baby.
I hold an incredible respect for dogs and cherish the relationship that develops between dog and handler. With this in mind, my training style is to adapt techniques that work for the dog as well as the family. Flexibility is key when training and is second only to consistency.
Remember: a dog should compliment your household, not complicate it!
